Powerful computing platform
The MCP9350i is the first result of collaboration between Philips and Intel, bringing an unprecedented level of computing power into the home entertainment environment. The MCP9350i is based on Intel technology, enabling entertainment PC functionality such as multi-tasking, multiple user management by use of the Intel Pentium® 4 3.0-GHz Processor with Hyper-Threading Technology and the Intel 945 Express Chipset Family, as well as technological support for features like multichannel audio and high-definition video.
The Philips MCP9350i Media Center is pre-installed with Microsoft® Media Center Edition 2005, along with Windows® Media Manager. Together, these software components provide an exceptionally easy to use on-screen graphic user interface that provides an electronic program guide (EPG) for one-touch recording, immediate access to favorite music, video, photos and games as well as Internet browsing and online services.
Via Wi-Fi wireless networking and the Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) interoperability protocol, client devices like Philips Streamium products can also access digital entertainment stored on the MCP9350i’s hard disk. Navigation through the system is made easy using the supplied universal remote control, which also enables the control of any other brand of A/V device.
Along with a comprehensive array of connectivity solutions for conventional audio and video devices, the MCP9350i also offers the ability to easy connect other devices. A multi-format flash memory card reader on the devices front panel allows the connection of SD™, MMC™, Memory Stick® and CompactFlash® flash memory cards. For the connection of digital camcorders and external hard drives the MCP9350i features a pair of IEEE1394/FireWire™ connections on its rear panel and one on the front panel, along with four high-speed USB 2.0 jacks."
