SIMPLY BLACK MODEL 330
Caracteristics:
Simply Black Classic has gotten a younger brother Simply Black 330. Much bigger, quite different, 10 years younger, but it resembles the Classic by appearance. Simply Black 330 is suspension less construction. The plinth consists of 5 layers 20 mm thick MDF boards and 20 mm thick aluminium plate bolted to the MDF boards. In order to make the construction completely free from internal vibrations, we have placed a 1mm thick T2134 insulation between MDF and the aluminium plate. The platter is of turned (machined) acrylic and bigger than on most turntables. To obtain higher moment of inertia we have increased the diameter of the platter to 330 mm and the mass up to 6,5 kg. The platter is 45 mm thick, and the center spindle has thread to provide clamping down the record. The record during playback is totally free from external vibrations.
The tonearm support is made out of 35 mm thick machined block (acrylic or aluminium). It is bolted to the plinth with (4) four M6 bolts. It provides easy installation of most tonearms with effect length from 229 mm (Linn) to 240mm (Rega). For the best sonic results we recommend to use Simply Black 330 with SME Series V or Graham tonearm.
The motor is more powerful than the one used in Classic. It is enclosed in aluminium enclosure and bolted to freestanding MDF box, filled with lead. Motor assembly weighs 3 kg, and is located apart from plinth/plate assembly. All support feet under the plinth and motor box are adjustable.
Simply Black 330 equipped with SME Series V (or Graham) tonearm and high quality pick- up cartridge will provide the best possible analog sonic performance.
